Hello from Down Under

Aaaaand because I struggle to do anything on time, let's just remove the word "going" and there we have it! The greatest sentence ever!!

If you're here, that means you are at least somewhat curious about my survival, which I appreciate, and also question at times. I am, somewhat surprisingly, alive and well. There are a lot of sponsors I'd like to thank for that: the boat captain, for successfully navigating (the edge) of a Greek tropical storm; Kristina, my new British travel buddy, for driving me around the first few days in Australia as I got used to the wrong side of the road; my mother, for giving me a tupperware of coffee cake before I left and proceeded to eat for the next 3 days (Ryan thanks you on that one, too, I get hangry quickly). And all of you, for contacting me and sending me love and support since I left. I realize how terrible I am at both texting and social media, which hasn't really affected my life until I teleported to the other end and left people wondering if I'm still kicking. I am, and I miss you, and I truly apologize for my inability to consistently communicate! So, in an effort to be better, I will be here more often to share pictures and updates of my adventure for whenever you are bored and wondering. Just as the first month has flown by, I know the rest of my time abroad will as well, so I'm doing my best to soak it all up and share most of the Good, the funny parts of the Bad, and any creature that qualifies as the Ugly (sometimes including me). Please continue sending me updates about you, too - I really love them and am already excited to see you all at Christmas time!

Over the next few days I intend to catch up on my time so far - first, our Greek sailing trip, followed by my first few weeks in Australia. Then I'll do a better job keeping up, I promise! Until then, please admire this dairy-free milkshake from the vegan cafe across the street that was as terrible as it looks...definitely won't be going back...at least not right this second...tomorrow is an option though...
